The snow melted just in time for Mexico High School boys golfers to travel to Boonville for a triangular against Centralia and host Boonville.
"While varsity had the meet medalist of the day, Brock Lunceford, the varsity team overall struggled to maintain competitive scores making it a close one with Boonville who came out on top by three strokes," stated Coach John Knipfel.
Lunceford's medal honors came from a scorecard playoff against Daymon Dollens from Centralia. Lunceford birdied the second hardest hole on the course to win the playoff.
Varsity scores were: Mexico 174; Boonville 171; Centralia 182. The varsity record is 4-1.
Mexico varsity scores were: Brock Lunceford 37 (a career low and first time in the 30s), Alex Bledsoe 43, Vincent Perll 47, Austin Kelsay 47 and Brad Hutchinson 49.
JV saw action for the first time coming out the victor in both contests against Boonville and Centralia.
Junior varsity scores were Mexico 200; Boonville NS; Centralia 239. The junior varsity record is 2-0.
Mexico junior varsity scores were: Brock Fuemmeler and Lucas Handlin with 48, Brandon Oligschlaeger 51, Kyle Roth 53 and Harrison Kliensorge with a 56.
Mexico's next opponents are Hannibal, Centralia and Highland on Monday.
