Delbert Eugene Holliday, 64, of Mexico, Mo., passed away, Monday, April 1, 2013 at the home of his stepson, Sam and Thelma Mills, Centralia.
He was born Oct. 25, 1948 in Callaway County, Mo., the son of Milford and Rosie Kirk Holliday.
Survivors include six stepchildren, 15 stepgrandchildren, 17 stepgreat-grandchildren, one stepgreat-great-grandchild, one sister, Mary Ann Dove and one sister-in-law, Dorris Kirk, both of Fulton. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Sonny Holliday, Harold Kirk, and one sister, Betty Slawson.
On Nov. 5, 1976, he was married in Audrain County to Betty Jane Day-Mills and she is deceased.
He was a high school graduate and attended Linn Tech, Linn, Mo. for two years.
Delbert was a 20-year military soldier having served with honor in the United States Army. He also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed volunteer service, especially, at the Veterans Home in Mexico.
His last employment was at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, as custodian. His hobby was fishing and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Centralia. Officiating will be Rev. David Hartgrove, Pastor, Crossroads Cathedral Assembly of God Church, Centralia. Interment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Mo. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the Fenton Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
