"Slightly more than expected went to the polls in Audrain County Tuesday as 4,416 or 30.37 percent of registered voters decided on whether to enact County Planning and Zoning, and selected among candidates for seats on the school board, city council and Audrain Medical Center Hospital Trustees. Audrain County voters chose not to adopt County Planning and Zoning by a margin of just under 1,200 votes. As a result, 63.79 percent voted against P&Z, while 36.21 percent voted for it. For the Mexico City Council, Dan Botts and Linda Reed were elected to two seats. Beverly Borgeson and Chuck Rentschler were both re-elected to three-year terms on the Mexico Board of Education. Beverly MacFarlane was voted to fill the two-year unexpired term vacated by William Maloney."
