Robert J. "Tip" Tipton, 76 of Mexico, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 13, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Mayson officiating. Visitation is Saturday from noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Robert was born Oct. 5, 1936 in Mexico. On March 16, 1974 in Mexico, he married Joetta Williams. She survives.
Tip was a member of St. Paul CME Church. He had done concrete work, bailed hay and worked at National Refractories.
Survivors include his wife, Joetta Tipton of the home; one daughter, Tiffanie Tipton of Mexico; one son, Desi Tipton and wife, Jackie of Topeka, Kan.; one grandson, Rhondell Tipton of Mexico; his best friend, Roy Lyons of Mexico; and many cousins, nieces-in-law and nephews-in-law.
Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by his mother, Angeline Taliaferro of Buffalo, NY; an uncle who raised Tip, Albert Richardson; and one aunt, Rachel Gould.
