NORTH CALLAWAY: North Callaway Thunderbirds lost all three of their games in the Montgomery County Tournament during the weekend.
On Friday afternoon they lost 6-1 to the Hallsville Indians. Paul Zerr recorded the loss, pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing 6 runs, (2 unearned).
Hallsville had 11 hits, 1 error while North Callaway had 5 hits and 3 errors.
Justin Murphy was 2-3 with 1 RBI and 2 doubles.
In the second game North Callaway lost to South Callaway 2-1 in a close game. The Thunderbirds scored their only run in the third inning.
The losing pitcher was Tanner Murphy who pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 2.
In the consolation game Saturday, Mark Twain defeated North Callaway 4-3 in another close game. Justin Murphy recorded the loss, pitching 3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and striking out 5.
North Callaway is 5-4 overall.

PARIS: After an 8-6 win Friday night against Salisbury, the Paris Coyotes are 2-0 in conference and 2-3 overall.
Steven Hayhurst led Paris both defensively and offensively. He pitched 4 innings of shutout ball on the mound and he was 3-4 at the plate with 1 home run, 1 double, 3 runs and 4 RBI.
On Saturday the Coyotes begin the conference tournament.
For Paris, Slater Stone was 1-4, Kyle Popkes was 1-3, Zac Baladenski was 1-4 with 2 RBI; Shane Umstead was 2-3 with 2 RBI; Tucker Gruber was 1-3; and Stephan Whelan was 1-2.
