Dorothy P. Forrest, 94, of Mexico passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia, Mo. with Tony Maxwell officiating.
Dorothy was born on May 12, 1918 to Robert Earl and Blanche Ridgeway Pollock.
She married Chester Lee Forrest on July 25, 1936 and they had one son, Robert Dale Forrest born October 31, 1937. Survivors include three grandsons, Scott Forrest and his wife Missy of Columbia, Steve Forrest and his wife Nancy of Sturgeon and Stewart Forrest and his wife Shelley of Columbia. Dorothy is also survived by three great grandchildren, Craig Forrest, Rachel Forrest and Samuel Forrest.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Forrest in 1979 and her son, Dale Forrest in 2003.
A 1936 graduate of Centralia High School, Dorothy was employed by Florsheim Shoe Company for 42 years and retired in 1980.
She was a member of Kentucky Road Christian Church for many years and enjoyed collecting Cabbage Patch Kids, listening to the radio and reading Bible verses. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kentucky Road Christian Church, 716 North Kentucky Street, Mexico, Mo. 65265.
