Bessie "Beth" Elizabeth Tate of Nevada and formerly of Mexico, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, after a terminal illness.
She was born June 21, 1946, to Omar Leo and Betty Elizabeth (Tanner) Tate, Sr. She married Clay Basham and had a daughter, Elizabeth Ann of Nevada. She also married John Williams in 1991. She was preceded in death by her father; her former husband, Clay Basham, Sr; her step-son, Clay Basham, Jr; and a sister, Patty Tate.
Bessie graduated from high school at Ft. Scott Bible School in Ft. Scott, KS, and then obtained her LPN. She loved her puppies, Taylor and Tyler.
Bessie is survived by her mother, Betty, of Climax Springs, MO; her daughter, Elizabeth, and her fiancé, Joe Burnett of Nevada,MO; three brothers, Robert (Donna Faye) Tate of Palmer, Alaska, Omar (Edna)Tate, Jr. of Climax Springs, MO, and Ian (Cathy) Tate of Galena, KS; three sisters, Elaine (Sherwood) Craghead of Centralia, MO, Wanita Tate of Ft. Scott, KS, and Becky (Gene) Jaynes of Ft. Scott, KS; many nieces and nephews; her grandchildren, Christian, Clayborn, Carolyn, China and Madison; and a special friend, Kristi Applegate.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
