Virginia "Dee" Nichols, 80 of Mexico, died Friday April 20, 2013 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, Ill.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico, with a prayer service to be held at 5:00 PM.
Virginia was born on June 22, 1932 in High Hill, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Alberta (Thompson) Duckworth.
She was a 1950 Graduate of Mexico High School.
On October 21, 1951 in Mexico, Virginia married Albert L. Nichols. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1984.
Dee is survived by two sons, Peter Nichols (Christine) of Bunker Hill, Ill., and David M. Nichols (Patricia) of Mexico; grandchildren, Nathan Nichols of Edwardsville, Ill., Benjamin and Ian Nichols of Granite City, Ill.; Kayla and Jessica Nichols of Edwardsville; step-grandchildren, Amy Piehl and Justin Carrol; great-grandchild, Emily Maureen Nichols; brother, Charles Duckworth (Joyce) of Mexico; sisters, Bonnie Deimeke of Mexico, and Charlene Robley (Richard) of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Alberta Nichols Fennewald of Paola, Kan.; several nieces, and nephews.
Along with her husband Albert, Dee was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Aaron Nichols, and her step-father, Clem Hoer.
