    We recorded a trace of snow before the precipitation – which began Tuesday morning – ended. Mexico's official precipitation amount was .50" from 4 a.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. today, but it was still raining at the time of this morning's reading and then changed to snow before ending at 7:00. By 8 a.m. the sun was shining through the clearing clouds.
    For the Mexico area, dating back to 1899, there are only four days in April that have no record of snowfall – April 22, 26, 28 and 29.
    The largest amounts:
    April 14, 1908, 7 inches;
    April 8, 1938, 5.8 inches;
    April 4, 1920, 4.6 inches;
    April 9, 1973, 4.5 inches;
    April 11, 1900, 4 inches;
    April 3, 1899, 3.4 inches;
    April 6, 1971, 3.3 inches;
    April 10, 1997, 2.5 inches;
    April 7, 1982, 2.3 inches;
    April 2, 1901, 1 inch.
    The remainder of the April snowfalls on record ranged from 0.8" downward to trace amounts.
    In addition, snowfall has been recorded in Mexico in May on the following dates:
    May 1, 1940;
    May 5, 1944;
    May 6, 1944;
    May 8, 1923;
    and the latest on May 13, 1953.
