Brock Lunceford, Alex Bledsoe and Austin Kelsay, members of the Mexico Bulldogs golf team have advanced to sectional competition after competing in the Class 3A District competition Monday. Lunceford, who placed ninth, also earned All-District honors.
MHS Coach John Knipfel stated Monday's match was held on what was by far the best weather day of the season. "Conditions were too wet to play the ball down everywhere, but the tournament still provided all the expected challenges on the road to state," remarked Knipfel.
Jordan McNeil and Vincent Perll, while not advancing to the next round, represented MHS and the golf team well and contributed to the team's fourth place finish out of 11 teams.
The sectionals will be held May 6 at Innsbrook Resort in Wright City and Knipfel said his team is looking forward to the match.
