Ruby L. Walker, 94 of Mexico, passed away at 1:47 a.m. Monday, Apr. 29, 2013 at Golden Living Center – Pin Oaks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Arnold Funeral Home with Raymond Iman officiating. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Ruby was born Nov. 1, 1918 in Paris, the daughter of Paul Raymond and Elizabeth Frances (Frankhous) Newbrough. On Jan. 6, 1938 in Shelbyville, she married Allan B. "Dick" Walker. He died on March 9, 2004.
Mrs. Walker was a member of Sunrise Christian Church. She had worked at Allen's Nursing Home for 30 years and loved to read.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth D. Walker and wife, Helen of Mexico and Larry W. Walker and wife, Margie of Centralia; one daughter, Karen Parrott and husband, John of Mexico; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell "Lynn" Newbrough and wife, Martha of Mexico; and one sister, Ann Oligschlaeger of Mexico.
In addition to her husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Orville, Lloyd and Johnny Newbrough; and one sister, Flossie Armstrong.
