Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from the 1300 block of West Street.
The driver, identified as John McGinnis, 30, of Mexico, was taken to Audrain Medical Center by Audrain Ambulance District personnel. He was treated for injuries he sustained during the incident and was then taken to the Audrain County Jail for the charges of: second-degree property damage (two counts), failure to obey a stop light, C&I driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, resisting arrest, DWI (drug intoxication), and tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree.
Citizens are reminded that people arrested/charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
