Blair Oaks demonstrated Wednesday night why they have been a state-ranked team most of the year when they defeated the North Callaway Thunderbirds 10-0 in six innings.
Blair Oaks scored 1 in the second inning, had a big inning in the fourth, scoring 8 runs off of 7 hits, and then scored 1 more run in the sixth.
Jacob Koelling was the winning pitcher, throwing all six innings with 9 strikeouts and 3 hits.
Paul Zerr took the loss, pitching 3 innings.
For North Callaway Chance Kee was 2-3 and David Craighead was 1-2.
"Blair Oaks is a good ball club and we just are not hitting the ball right now," remarked NorCal Coach Kevin O'Neal.
North Callaway's record stands at 11-9.
The junior varsity also lost 5-1. Their record is 10-7-1.
Weather permitting, North Callaway will host New Bloomfield tonight.
District play begins Saturday with North Callaway as the host school.
