James David Sites, 71, of Centralia, Mo. died unexpectedly at his home Thursday, May 9, 2013.
James was born May 22, 1941 in St. James, Mo., the son of Wilbur and Lela Barton Sites.
On Nov. 22, 1991 he was married in Eminence, Mo. to Paula Lybarger and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, James Wesley Sites and wife, Jerri, Washington; two stepdaughters, Tina Mitchell and husband Cole, Holts Summit; Shala Taylor and husband, Troy, Trementon, Utah; three grandchildren, Abigail Sites, Jonathan Sites, and Colton Mitchell; five siblings, Joyce Petty, Salem, Jack Sites, St. Clair, Ron Sites, Spartanburg, S.C., Judy Puckett, Hanna, Wyo. and Rick Sites, Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James earned his associate degree at Linn State Technical College, Linn, Mo. His first employment was at Pea Ridge Mine, Potosi, Mo. Following college he was employed at 3M Company, Columbia, for 30 years. He retired in 2005. Mr. Sites was a volunteer at Missouri Veterans' Home, Mexico, for over 400 hours and had been honored and presented an award for his service.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.
