  • Betty Jo Bise, 81, of Sturgeon, Mo. entered into rest, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Stuart House, Centralia, Mo.
    Betty was born June 21, 1931 at Clark, Mo., the daughter of Everett Dameron and Mary Elizabeth Evans Carr.
    On Nov. 25, 1950 she was married in the First Christian Church, Mexico, to Clifford Junior Bise. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2010.
    Survivors include three children, James Michael Bise, Mary Kathryn Caswell and husband, Dan, all of Columbia; Debra Kay Ritchie and husband, David, Sturgeon; three grandchildren, Kelly Ritchie Martin and husband, Jason, Sturgeon, Cindy Ritchie Kempker and husband, Brad, Centralia, Douglas Ritchie, Sturgeon; six great-grandchildren, Katelyn Elizabeth Martin, Chase Douglas Kempker, Peyton Ray Kempker, Aubrey Kay Ritchie, Austin Lee Martin and Eastin James Kempker, also a brother-in-law, Rudolph Bise, state of Alabama.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Clyde Carr and sister, Jewell Adams.
    Mrs. Bise was a member of Sturgeon Christian Church, Sturgeon, and the Boone County Democratic Club. She was a past president and treasurer of the P.T.A.; served as Sturgeon City Clerk for several years and financial secretary of Sturgeon Christian Church. She was employed for 11 years as financial accountant at Ellis-Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia. They owned and operated a craft shop in Sturgeon for 10 years. She was an excellent seamstress.
    Betty Jo attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, for one year.
    Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Sturgeon Christian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jay Self, Pastor, First Christian Church, Moberly. Interment will be at Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Sturgeon. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Sturgeon Christian Church.
    The family suggests memorials to Sturgeon Christian Church or Mt. Horeb Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
    Pallbearers are James A. Jones, Jeffrey Stephens, Darrell Bloss, Mike Butler, Gary Minor and Bill Frazier.
