James Paxton Bradley Jr., 82, of Mexico, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Stuart House, Centralia.
James was born Aug. 16, 1930 in Clark, Mo., the son of James Paxton and Ila Mae Gardner Bradley.
On Jan. 12, 1952 he was married to Imo Lorene Brooks and she preceded him in death March 10, 1991.
Later on Feb. 27, 1995 he was married in Auxvasse, Mo. to Betty Bertha Purler and she survives.
Other survivors include five children, Melinda Estey and husband, Jim, Centralia; Derrick Bradley and wife, Memoree, Columbia; James Paxton Bradley III and wife, Lisa, Moberly; Yvetta Gudde and husband, Floyd; Allen Bradley and wife, Tina, all of Centralia; 11 grandchildren, Jordan Bradley, Dane Gudde, Jake Gudde, James Paxton Bradley IV, Nicholas Bradley, Avery Stout, Stephen Bradley, Christopher Bradley, Allison Estey Bohlmeyer, Carly, Estey Henke and Hannah Gudde; five great-grandchildren, Henry Bohlmeyer, Sadie Bohlmeyer, Oliver Bohlmeyer, Breckin Henke, Olivia Gudde; brother, Bobby Bradley and wife, Norma, Sturgeon and sister, Julia Clubine, Moberly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Bradley in 1975; and a sister, Edith Jewell Dollens.
Mr. Bradley served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sturgeon United Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at Sturgeon United Methodist Church, Sturgeon. Officiating will be Rev. Jay Self, Pastor, First Christian Church, Mob-erly, and Rev. Michael Will, Pastor, Sturgeon United Methodist Church. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at Sturgeon United Methodist Church. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Sturgeon.
The family suggests memorials to Cancer Research Center, Columbia.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jordan Brad-ley, Dane Gudde, Jake Gudde, James Paxton Bradley IV, Nicholas Bradley, Avery Stout.
Honorary pallbearers are Allison Bohlmeyer, Carly Henke, Hannah Gudde, Christopher Bradley, and Stephen Bradley.
Fenton Funeral Chapel, Sturgeon, is in charge of arrangements.
