Curtis Paul Mechlin, 86 of Mexico, passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia.
Paul was born Oct. 23, 1926 in Rush Hill, the son of Charles Ross and Ethel Alice (Stanford) Mechlin. On Apr. 15, 1949 in Centralia, he married Nita Wiest. She passed away Apr. 23, 2008.
Mr. Mechlin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during WWII. He was a farmer and a machinist at A.B. Chance.
Survivors include his children, Pam Turner and husband, Leonard of Columbia, Pat Adams and husband, Randy of Centralia, Curt Mechlin and wife, Jean Ann of Mexico, and Ross Mechlin and wife, Libby of Columbia; seven grandchildren, including Travis Mechlin, who is currently serving in Afghanistan; four great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grand children, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Paul was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
