Watergate burglary leads to the White House

James McCord and four other men were arrested while breaking into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Hotel on June 17, 1972. McCord was a security coordinator for President Nixon's Committee for the Reelection of the President.

Two years later, President Nixon resigned before his impeachment trial began. He is the only US President to resign.
