Margaret Loree Berry, 85 of Mexico, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. Vistitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Loree was born Dec. 4, 1927 in Neelyville, Arkansas, the daughter of Gordon and Edna (Proffett) Spencer. She was married to John L. Stuart and he passed away Dec. 18, 1955. She then married Clyde B. Berry, who died on Oct. 17, 1992.
Mrs. Berry was a beauty salon owner and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Loree was a Democratic Committeewoman, Audrain County Public Administrator and was active in many other civic organizations.
Survivors include two sons, J. Michael Stuart and wife, Frances of Rio Rancho, NM and Tom Stuart and wife, Becca of Spring Hill, FL; two granddaughters, Dr. Lorenelle Lofquist and husband, Jeffrey of Fenton and Crystalyn Henson of Columbia; two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Haley Lofquist; and many other extended family members, including her niece, Carolyn McCue of Mexico.
In addition to her husbands, Loree was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and David Spencer; and one sister, Thelma Pratt.
Loree enjoyed flowers very much. Friends may send flowers for her funeral services or may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association or the King's Daughters Home. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
