  • Kathleen (Blaisdell) Rodriguez, age 60, of Mexico, Mo., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, with Pastor Art Menard officiating. A second Memorial will be held at a later date at East Baptist Church in Lynn, Mass. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lynn, Mass. Her urn will be placed alongside her mother's, as this was always one of her greatest wishes.
Kathy was born on October 8, 1952, in Hamilton County, Springdale, Ohio. She was the youngest child of True Worthy James Blaisdell, Sr. and Cathryn Marie (Hurd) Blaisdell.
'Kathy' spent most of her early years in Massachusetts, mostly in Lynn and also in Oxford, Webster, Springfield & Swampscott. She attended Swampscott High School. Later she attended Northshore Community College. She had a degree in pet grooming and later opened her own grooming business which was called Ye Ol' Doggie Shoppe.
In 1970 she married Arthur Wagner of Yuma, Az. and they had two children, Leah Ann (Wagner) Bodine and Joseph Scott Wagner, who reside in Mexico, Mo. Her second marriage was to John Jeffries. Her step son Chad Jeffries also survives of Mexico. Her third marriage was to Franscico Rodriguez who resides in Mexico. In addition to her children, she leaves behind two sisters: Mrs. Jean Russo and husband Alphonse of Lancaster, Mass. and Mrs. Maureen Duso and husband Richard of Port Charlotte, Fla. , two brothers, John & (Laurie) Blaisdell of Marblehead, Mass. and True Worthy James 'Jimmy' Blaisdell, Jr. of Nahant, Mass. A sister, Joan Blaisdell of Lynn, Mass., predeceased her in June of 2004. Kathy also leaves her late father's second wife, Rubeline 'Ruby' (Cope) Blaisdell of Mexico, Mo.Her grandchildren, Charles True Wagner & Michael James Wagner reside in Pittsburgh, Calif., she also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a niece, Kathryn M. (Russo) Yager of VT & Lancaster, Mass. on March 6, 2013, at age 43 years and one uncle James Hurd, of Hendersonville, N.C., preceded her on June 8, 2013 at the age of 94.
Throughout Kathy's entire life she had a very deep love for animals, especially horses, dogs and cats. Many years ago she raised birds in Lynn, Mass. and she loved her favorite parrot 'Nana Kay', (named after her late mother). Animals were always a very 'important' part of her life and she always made sure to take the best possible care of them. For many of the past years Kathy loved and cared for people that required physical/medical/emotional support as well. She was a very active parishioner in the First Church of the Nazarene of Mexico, Mo., supporting the church in different capacities whenever or however she could. One of the 'high points' of her life was when she was able to encourage others to attend her church. She led a deeply spiritual life and longed for the day when she would be brought home to the Lord and rejoined with all those that passed before her.
Page 2 of 2 - She was employed by both, Audrain Handicap Services and Finck and Associates, LLC of Mexico. She loved her job but she loved her clients more. Due to her own disabilities she was unable to continue in the field she was so passionate about.
From Woodstock to Strawberry Fields she loved her music. She played guitar very well upside down and backwards just as Hendrix. She played keyboard and sang in church choir. She was very talented and self-taught.
