Harold Leroy Barrett, 81, of Sturgeon, Mo. passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center, Centralia.
Harold was born Oct. 29, 1931 in Caraway, Ark., the son of Estel Deloney and Mamie Montgomery Barrett.
On Oct. 20, 1953 he was married in Paragould, Ark. to Audrey Foss and she survives.
Other survivors include four children, Bruce Leroy Barrett and wife, Karen, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Andrea Schmidt, Hastings, Mich.; Teresa Barrett Greene and husband, Larry, Centralia; John Thomas Barrett and wife, Vanessa, Fulton, Mo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Eugene Barrett, Sturgeon and one sister, Ruby Tolbert, Sturgeon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Cole.
He was a member of a Baptist Church in Arkansas since age 10 years. He was a graduate of high school in Lafe, Ark. Harold served his country with honor in the USAF for 22 years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a Master Sergeant and served in the Military Police department. He was proud to be a member of the 809 Air Police Squadron which met annually; the Centralia Masonic Lodge No. 59 and the Optimist Club, Sturgeon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, at Sturgeon Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Young, Pastor, Sturgeon Baptist Church. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Sturgeon. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the Sturgeon Baptist Church.
