Joseph Fleming Roddy, 92, of Centralia, Mo. passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Parkside Manor, Columbia
Joe was born April 21, 1921 in Centralia, the son of George Forrest and Cleva Flossie (Waters) Roddy.
On July 28, 1945 he was married in Moberly, Mo. to Belva Lewis and she survives in Centralia; July 28th would have been their 68th year of happy marriage.
Other survivors include two daughters, Connie Robertson and husband, David, Centralia and Winifred Chirnside and husband, Rick, Columbia; two grandchildren, Cliff Rhodes and wife, Danielle, Sevierville, Tenn. and Ashley Wetmore and husband, Greg, Centralia; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Wetmore, Caden Rhodes and Landon Rhodes; one brother, Donald Roddy, Centralia; two sisters, Ruby Ridgeway, Mexico, and Lillian Nichols, Long Beach, Calif; a special nephew, Steve Roddy, Thompson, and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph Roddy, Albert Roddy and David Roddy.
He was an active member and deacon of the Church of Christ, Centralia. He was a self-employed farmer.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Centralia. Officiating will be Mark White, Minister, Church of Christ, Centralia. Interment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens, Centralia. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at Fenton Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to Church of Christ, 731 North Jefferson Street, Centralia.
Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Bettenhausen and Glenwood Lawrence.
Pallbearers will be Jim Blankinship, Lee Goen, Gary Miller, Willie Horton, Tom Haire and Ron Landis.
