Members of the Audrain Medical Center Board of Trustees received a report about the monthly trustee inspection and the hospital report at the June 27 meeting.
Chairman Sterling Oliver reported that he, CEO Dave Neuendorf and David Schulte toured the outside of the hospital to see the landscape improvements, and the power washing results of the limestone brick on the face of the hospital on Monroe Street.
The interior projects underway include the moving of the physicians' lounge to a room by the quality management department, and the remodeling of a facility for a federally-mandated breast feeding station for visitors and employees. The completion date for the new chapel is Sept. 1.
Kari Wilson, vice president of Clinical Services/COO, presented the hospital update, which included a report of the SSM Leadership Conference in San Antonio. Neuendorf, Kim Rettenmaier, M.D., Martha Sydow and Wilson represented AMC.
Wilson also reported that the annual Board retreat will be Aug. 22, and the AMC Auxiliary dinner will be Sept. 21. The AMC Foundation raised nearly $20,000 in the recent golf tournament. The funds will be used to replace the gurneys in the emergency room.
In old business, Wilson reported that the Auxiliary has chosen updating HealthWorks and Cardiac Rehab as this year's project, which will include painting and new flooring. Auxiliary members also are improving the cafeteria garden.
In other remodeling projects, Wilson said the seating in the cafeteria which need to be replaced will likely be in the form of large round tables which will better accommodate patrons.
Other trustees in attendance were Bill Dubbert, vice chairman; Gene Thomas, D.O., treasurer; Jo Ellen Craghead, secretary; and Peter Perll, M.D., member. The next Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for July 25.
