  • How to Make a Big Clamp

  • For your wide loads

  • When you need to clamp an exceptionally wide item, try this trick from Club member Nick Jim of West Hills, California. Detach the ends of a pair of removable-end bar clamps and drill 1/4-in.-dia. holes through the bars of both clamps. (Locate the holes 1 in. from the ends of the bars.) By pressing the pins on the bars into the holes, you can join the clamps together and create a single bar clamp twice as long as the originals.
