  • William A. "Billy" Walker, age 38 of rural Curryville, passed away with family at his side at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home in the country.
    Visitation is Monday, July 15, 2013 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
    Service is Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Glenn Forman. Music will be selected favorite songs. Interment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
    Pallbearers: Dan Calvin, Dennis Dixon, Tom Richards, Jason Talley, Jack Ruble and Derrick Reading.
    Billy had been a lifelong rural Curryville resident and was a 1993 Bowling Green High School graduate. In February 1992 he started working at the Wal-mart Store in Mexico and continued working there until October 2012, when his health prevented him from working any longer. He had attended Elm Grove Baptist Church and had been involved in many activities. Billy owned and operated Double AA Kennels where he raised and trained Beagles for hunting. He was a member of the American Pet Breeders Association, the Wheelin Sportsman's Outdoors Association, the Disabled Corps of Engineers Handicap Hunters Association and was involved with the Children's Miracle Network. Billy's hobbies included four-wheeling, deer, squirrel, turkey and dove hunting, fishing, boating, mudding, tubing, jet-skiing and derby cars. He enjoyed sharing many of these hobbies with his family.
    He was born December 25, 1974 in Mexico, Mo., the son of Paul Green and Virginia Mae (Fisher) Walker.
    Survivors include his mother, Virginia of rural Curryville; one sister: Karen and husband, Jim Harrower of Vandalia; two nieces: Jinnifer Harrower and Kayelee Harrower both of Vandalia.
    He was preceded in death by: father, Paul; one sister, Stacy Lee Sydenstricker in 1972; maternal grandparents: Bob and Esther Fisher; paternal grandparents: Green and Pauline Walker.
