  • Farmington – Alan “Woody” Moore, 64, passed away July 18, 2013, in Farmington.  Woody was born September 5, 1948, in Mexico, Missouri, and was the son of Paul Matthews Moore and Doris Gayle ‘Wood’ Moore.  Also preceding-in-death were two sisters: Paula Schilling and Barbara Thornton.
    After graduation from Mark Twain High School in Center, Missouri, Alan attended and played football at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Alan worked most of his life in the cemetery business and was an avid low-handicap golfer.
    Survivors include three daughters: Mackenzie and Madelyn Moore, both of Florida; and Leslie Moore, of Indiana.  A sister, Martha (& Jerry) Briscoe, of New London, Missouri.  A brother, James L. (Jimmy) Moore, of Vandalia, Missouri.  Three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and dear friends Ed and Linda Scrogin.
    There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at East Lawn Cemetery, Mexico, Missouri, with Rev. John Grimmett officiating. Arrangements by Taylor Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., Farmington, Missouri.  Memorials for Alan “Woody” Moore may be made to HNB Bank, c/o Martha Briscoe, P.O Box 1107, Hannibal, MO 63401.
