Belva Dean Lewis Roddy, 92 of Centralia, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center, Centralia.
Belva was born Feb. 1, 1921 in Higbee, Mo., the daughter of Ira and Frances Elizabeth Hamilton Lewis.
On July 28, 1945, she was married in Moberly to Joseph Fleming Roddy and he preceded her in death July 10, 2013.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Robertson, Centralia; (David Robertson, Boonville); Winifred Chirnside and husband, Rick, Columbia; two grandchildren, Cliff Rhodes and wife, Danielle, Sevierville, Tenn.; Ashley Wetmore and husband, Greg, Centralia; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Wetmore, Caden Rhodes and Landon Rhodes; a special nephew, Steve Roddy, Thompson and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Edgar Lewis, Earl Lewis, Henry Lewis and Bryson Lewis; two sisters, Flossie White Griggs and Fratie Lewis.
She was an active member of the Church of Christ, Centralia.
In the early part of her career she was supervisor at Crown Laundry, Columbia. Belva was the wife of a farmer, devoted homemaker and caring and loving family member.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Centralia. Officiating will be Mark White, Minister, Church of Christ, Centralia. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of service on Thursday at Fenton Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to Church of Christ, 731 North Jefferson, Centralia, Mo. 65240.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenwood Lawrence, Ed Bettenhausen and DeWayne Brandow.
Pallbearers will be Jim Blankinship, Lee Goen, Gary Miller, Tom Haire, Willie Horton and Ron Landis.
