Beat Hornet in overtime

Mexico Bulldogs soccer team defeated Fulton Hornets 3-2 Thursday night in overtime.
Fulton scored the first two goals of the match. The Bulldogs answered with two goals of their own. The first came from Lake Bailey and the second came from Brock Fuemmeler. The game was tied 2-2 at half. Both teams were scoreless in the second half.
Lake Bailey notched his second goal in about the seventh minute of the first overtime period. With the golden goal rule, that was the game winner.
Mexico had 9 shots on goal, while Fulton had 9.
Fulton had beaten Mexico twice last year. They won those games 3-1 and 4-0 (combined goals of 7-1). This was the first time Mexico has beaten Fulton since 2010.
The Bulldogs did have some minor injuries. "We had two players with bloody noses and one player got a cut right above his eye. All of which resulted in a significant amount of blood," stated MHS Coach Grant Johnston.
"Lake Bailey provided a spark off the bench we needed after falling 2-0 early in the game. After he notched his first goal of the game, you could sense the confidence in our team emerging. Later in the first overtime, he sent us home with a hard earned goal and well earned win," said the coach.
Brock Fuemmeler is becoming a headache for defenders. His athleticism makes him incredibly hard to track. "Combine that with is growing awareness of the field, and you are looking at very scary player as the season progresses," said Johnston.
Tyler Warmbrodt (Keeper) battled through a number of cramps and delivered a solid performance.
