The North Callaway Thunderbirds scored two in the first, six in the second and seven in the third on the way to beating the Community R-VI Trojans 15-0 in three innings Thursday in Auxvasse.
Jaida Gray was the winning pitcher for the Thunderbirds, allowing no hits and one walk while recording five strikeouts while going 3-4 behind the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases. Sam Jett pitched for the Trojans.
North Callaway's Kelsey Coil hit her third homerun of the season, a three-run shot in the second. Elaine Brinter hit two triples in a night where she was 2-3 with three RBIs and two runs. Bailey Boorman was 3-4 with two RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases and Maddie Sorrel was 2-3 with two RBIs and two runs.
The win moves the Thunderbirds to 6-0 (4-0 EMO) for the season. Community R-VI falls to 1-4 (1-4 EMO).
The Trojans return to competition tonight at home against the Sturgeon Bulldogs. The Thunderbirds host the North Callaway Invitational this weekend, opening play at 8 a.m. Saturday against the Van-Far Indians.
