For storage unit fire

On Monday, at approximately 6:23 a.m., Mexico Public Safety officers and volunteers responded to a fire in a self-storage building located in the 500 block of South Olive. The building and the majority of the contents were destroyed as a result.
MPSD and the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office investigated the cause of the fire. The investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Larry W. Skinner, 46, of Mexico, for second-degree arson. According to a release from MPSD, Skinner was renting one of the storage units in the building that burned.
The release states Skinner was arrested on the warrant by the Centralia Police Department on Wednesday at approximatley 5:27 p.m. He is currently in the Audrain County Jail. His bond is set at $50,000.
When officers arrived on the scene there were 18 storage units buring with flames in most of the units. The building sufferd extension damage from the fire and most of the contents in the majority of the units were damaged by fire as well.
Citizens are reminded that people arrested/charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
