William "Bill" Hunter, 70 of Paris, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at Salt River Nursing Home in Shelbina.
Bill was born on Jan. 30, 1943 in Hannibal, the son of Pete and Doris Liter Hunter. Because of illness of his mother, he was raised by foster parents Obbie and Margaret Osborne in Palmyra, Mo. and raised in the Catholic faith.
He attended grades 1st through 8th at Catholic School in Palmyra, Mo., and then attended Palmyra High School, where he graduated in the class of 1961. He then attended Northeast Missouri College for 2 years. He worked for Northeast Power and Moorman Feeds, before becoming a brickmason for 45 years. He was, also, employed by Wulff Brothers Masonry Company.
He married Cheryl Frederick on June 7, 1967. He is survived by his children, Ryan (Melissa) Hunter of Paris, Mo., Travis (Mandy) Hunter of Centralia, Mo., Heidi (Jeff) Edwards of Brookfield, Mo. and Bill R. (Kim) Hunter of Curryville, from a previous marriage; one sister, Dietta (Ed) Riech of Palmyra, Mo.; two brothers, Tony (Penny) Balandenski of Hannibal, Mo. and Gary Kaiser of Hannibal, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, an aunt, Martha Myers of Hannibal and an uncle, Paul Liter of St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home with Father Rob Fields officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
