Students provide tech tutoring to community
Students from the Mexico High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) provided free technology tutoring to area residents at the Hart Career Center Oct. 17.
Those participating learned about Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Photoshop. The tutors also coached attendees on using such devices as iPads, tablets, and personal computers.
This event came about after Sarah Gooch, MHS FBLA sponsor, realized that many people in the community wanted assistance with their devices. Fifteen people attended the event and the tutors were actively busy the entire time.
“I think it was a success,” said Gooch. “I could see us sponsoring this again.”
