Eunice Vassos, 88 of Mexico, died at 9:52 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at Golden Living Center/Pin Oaks in Mexico.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Forman officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
Eunice was born in Lumberton, N.C., November 19, 1924, the daughter of Ernest and Lena Bell (Owen) Hall. On February 12, 1947, in Dillon, S.C., she married Frank Milton Vassos who preceded her in death.
Eunice worked for Hoffman's/Darby's for 42 years as a cashier.
She was a Charter Member of Friendship Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include one son, Milton Vassos and wife Kathy, of Centralia; two daughters, Beverly Jones and husband Perry of Centralia, and Mona Vassos of Kansas City; five grandchildren, Robbie Moss and wife Jennifer of Mexico, Dustin Vassos, Shelby Vassos, Pam Wilhite and husband Steve, all of Centralia, and Salina Green and husband David of St. Louis; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan Wilhite, Alex Moss, Addison Moss and Gabby Green.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Friendship Baptist Church or Missouri Veterans Home Residents Fund. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
