PERRY-Services for Juanita Rose McGee, 94, of Perry, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Bienhoff Funeral Home, Perry, with Reverend David Todd officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Holliday, Mo.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. McGee passed away at 12:33 a.m., October 27, 2013 at Pin Oaks Nursing Home in Mexico.
She was born March 24, 1919 in Marion County, the daughter of Roy and Grace Selby Blackwell.
She was married to Joseph P. McGee on July 23, 1944 in Dillon, S.C. and he preceded her in death July 11, 1995.
Survivors include: one son and his wife, Martin and Linda McGee of Largo, Fla.; one sister and her husband, Betty and Frank Boswell of Mexico; two grandchildren, Kevin McGee of Springfield Ill. and Pat McGee of Mandaville, La.; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter: and a special friend George Seager of Perry.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Blackwell and one sister, Doris Garrett.
Mrs. McGee was a homemaker and member of the Perry Christian Church. She moved to Perry in 1994 from Springfield, Ill. She and her husband managed the Springfield Ski and Boat Club for 15 years and then she worked at Scaffe's Flower Shop for 5 years. After moving to Perry, she became a member of the Perry VFW Post 4088 Ladies Auxiliary and worked part time for Bienhoff Funeral Home. She loved cats and seahorses, and enjoyed reading.
Memorial contributions may be made to Perry VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary or the Perry Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be David Garrett, Steve Garrett, Clyde and Cheryl Oligschlaeger, Martin McGee, Frank Boswell and Reverend David Todd.
