Stephen L. Helling, 37 of Mexico, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, OK.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Ulric Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday evening from 5-7 at Arnold Funeral Home.
Stephen was born on Aug. 4, 1976 in Rolla, MO, the son of Leon and Joyce (Hoener) Helling. On Aug. 17, 1996 he married Melanie Renner who survives at the home.
He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and worked for the MO Dept. of Transportation. He enjoyed going to the lake, hunting, fishing and dirt bike riding with his son.
In addition to his wife Melanie, he is survived by a son Stephen Dawson Helling and a daughter Melina Rose Helling of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Leon and Joyce Helling of Linn, MO; a sister Leann (Helling) Mounce and husband Don of Owensville, MO; brother Brad Helling and wife Korrie of Mexico; father-in-law and mother-in-law Pete and Pam Renner of Mexico; sister-in-law Marlene (Renner) Ridgway and husband Darren of Boonville, MO; brother-in-law Travis Renner and wife Jessica of Springfield, MO; and sister-in-law Lydia (Renner) Hollinsworth husband Jesse of Buckner, MO. Nieces and nephews, Diana, Alex, Ona, Bradley, and Wyatt; Caitlyn, Quintin, Ryliegh, Cooper, Harley, and Kaia and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness or the Helling Fund for Dawson and Melina at United Credit Union in c/o Arnold Funeral Home.
