Man in jail on $50,000 cash only bond.

As a result of an investigation by the Centralia Police Department, Missouri Division of Family Services of Audrain County and the Audrain County Juvenile Office, Anthony J. Barnett, 27, Centralia, was arrested by the Centralia Police Department for child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Barnett was taken into custody by members of the Centralia Police Department at approximately 10 a.m. Thursday.
A Probable Cause statement was submitted to the Boone County Prosecuting Attorneys office requesting Barnett be charged with the Class "B" Felony of, Abuse of a Child and Class "C:" Felony of, Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Barnett is in the Boone County Jail with a $ 50,000 cash only bond.
The investigation with the above agencies began when a child under the age of 5 was brought to the Audrain County Medical center with severe bruising, scratches and other serious injuries commensurate with abuse. The victim child, not a relative of Barnett but in his care at the time of the injuries, has been temporarily placed by the Audrain County Missouri Juvenile office.
