John W. Small, 91, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully on December 21, 2013. He was born January 15, 1922 in Ft. Worth, TX. In 1959, he moved to Mexico, Missouri from Mobile, AL, where he owned and operated Continental Bag Manufacturing Co. In 1971, he sold the business and moved to Scottsdale. He enjoyed playing golf and gin rummy with his many friends at Paradise Valley Country Club and Pinetop Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie, and daughter, Sharon West. He is survived by his two sons, Robert (Vicki) Small, Prescott, AZ and Gordon (Jan Ashley) Small, Phoenix, AZ and two daughters, Barbara (R.D.) Wooten and Glenda (Joel) Gildar, Scottsdale, AZ, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Vi at Grayhawk for the wonderful care of their father over the last 12 years and to Hospice of the Valley for its care this last year. There will be no services. At John's request, in support of life, the body was donated to advance medicine through Science Care, a whole body donor program. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
