MHS Bulldogs top Indians and Panthers on the mat
The MHS Bulldogs wrestlers were at home Friday night for their consecutive night of action in the Bob Gooch Gym as they hosted a triangular meet against the Hallsville Indians and the Centralia Panthers.
By the end of the night, MHS was a perfect 2-0 in team competition with several Bulldogs going undefeated in mat action. It was a night of action and pins for the Bulldogs.
"The guys rebounded well from last night," said Bulldogs Coach Gayle Adams. "They looked good, wrestled well too. Both Hallsville and Centralia are good tough teams."
Mexico vs. Hallsville
The Bulldogs opened Friday evening's action picking up a 68-6 win against the Hallsville Indians. The Bulldogs' action wins included five pins, one by tech fall and a win via decision.
Brit Wilson (145) won by decision (6-3) over Hunter Tessman.
Ethan Musgrove (152) won by pin over Isiah Woods at the 3:49 mark.
Samuel Fayad (160) won by tech fall (16-1) over Jacob Willhoite.
Payton Turner (182) won by pin over Andrew Robb at the 3:52 mark.
Anthony Brower (195) won by pin over Jacob Huisman at the 1:06 mark.
Jaylen Lee (220) won by pin over Gage Charlton at the 0:30 mark.
John Lummis (285) won by pin over Arlie Nole at the 0:11 mark.
Benjamin Hamilton (106), David Rendon (126), Jordan Jones (132), Jadin Taylor (138) and Dalton Logerman (170) picked up wins via forfeit to increase the MHS Bulldogs' point total.
Hallsville's only six points came from a forfeit win.
Mexico vs. Centralia
MHS ended Friday night's action under the single spotlight as they defeated the Centralia Panthers 59-18. The Bulldogs picked up eight action wins during the matching, seven by pin and one by tech fall.
Jordan Jones (132) won by pin over Dustin Fashing at the 1:40 mark.
Brit Wilson (145) won by pin over Jacob Gramke at the 3:30 mark.
Dalton Logerman (170) won by pin over Andrew Arp at the 2:13 mark.
Payton Turner (182) won by pin over Cody Jennings at the 1:07 mark.
Anthony Brower (195) won by pin over Sam Hasckamp at the 1:54 mark.
Jaylen Lee (220) won by tech fall (21-4) over Joseph Brightwell.
John Lummis (285) won by pin over Jeff Milner at the 0:11 mark.
Benjamin Hamilton (106), Jadin Taylor (138) and Ethan Musgrove (152) picked up wins via forfeit to increase the MHS Bulldogs' point total.
Centralia earned six points when Jackson Evans (126) won by pin over Mexico's David Rendon at the 2:50 mark. Centralia also earned 12 points from two forfeit wins.
Back in Action
The MHS Bulldogs wrestlers will return to action in the Bob Gooch Gym Tuesday night at 6 p.m. against the Boonville Pirates.
