Family attends signing

MHS soccer central midfielder senior Christian McKeown signed his letter of intent yesterday to play university soccer with the Richmond International Academic and Soccer Academy, in Leeds, England ( Joining McKeown at the signing were his family, friends, MHS coaches, teachers and administrators and RIASA Chief US scout John Roeslein.
“RIASA is very pleased and excited to have Christian join us this coming season in England,” said John Roeslein, Chief US scout for RIASA. “It will be a tremendous challenge but we feel that he is well up to it.”
RIASA is a partnership between Bradford City Football Club, a professional club in the English Football League, and Richmond University, the American University of London. RIASA accepts about 15 players each year from the US and around the world. It is the only opportunity available to play in a professional academy while studying for a US degree.
“Christian's dedication, work ethic, and passion for the game is unparalleled,” said MHS Soccer Coach Grant Johnston. “He is exactly the type of individual RIASA is looking for.  I truly believe Christian has made the perfect decision for the next step in his life.  RIASA lives and breathes two things: soccer and education.  And so does Christian.”
McKeown intends to study Sports Management and International Business while playing soccer.
