Wendell Wesley Wehrman, 88, of Centralia, MO, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, the result of an automobile accident near Centralia, MO.
Wendell Wesley Wehrman was born April 3, 1926 near Montgomery City, MO, to Leslie Homer and Gladden Catherine Hickerson Wehrman. Mr. Wehrman graduated from the Montgomery City High School. He married Mary Jane McCullough on October 26, 1945 in Montgomery City, MO, and she preceded him in death on August 18, 1994. He later married Karen Stidham on February 12, 1995. In the early 1950’s he worked at A. P. Green Brick Plant in Mexico, MO.  With a slowdown in the brick manufacturing, Wendell‘s entrepreneurial spirit and carpentry skills, Wendell established his legacy in the building trade throughout the area. This foundation eventually developed into his Wehrman Camper Sales where he was known as the “Camper Man” for over 44 years. In today’s technological world he joined the 21st century with his motto – “I am the original www and not .com”.  Mr. Wehrman was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Mexico, MO, that he helped build; always enjoyed working; and he never met a stranger, always enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Mr. Wehrman is survived by his wife, Karen Stidman Wehrman, of Centralia, MO; children: David (Deb) Wehrman; Sharon (Dennis deceased) Wehrman – Becky and Sarah; Shirley and Thomas Christian, both deceased - Teresa (Douglas)- Sierra, Zach-ary) Shermer; Jim (Linda) Cunningham - James and Tommy, Justin, Michelle-Claire); Charles (Julie) Cunningham-Samantha-Odessa Lea and Theodore;  Marla-Hannah, Joshulynn, Zoiey, Ellexis Rose); Dennis (Linda) Yager – Emma and Daniel, Angela – Emily, Ashley, and Mackenzie, Stephanie – Reyna, Noah, and Seth; sisters-in-law, Merle Wehrman and Betty Wehrman; and brother-in-law, Everett Clark; and other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Wehrman was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Jane Wehrman; two children:  Dennis Wehrman and Shirley Christian; brothers: Howard Wehrman and Donald Wehrman; and sister, Catherine Wehr-man Clark.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, MO, for family and close friends. The Reverend Tresia Griffith and the Reverend Robert Frey officiated.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
