Donald Gene “Cotton” Loyd, 64, of Centralia died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his home.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held 10:00 AM Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico.
Cotton was born on August 2, 1949 in Mexico the son of Elmer Lester and Rose Marie (Graue) Loyd.
Cotton served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by sisters, Paula Isgrig (John) of Mexico, Marsha Woodward of Mexico, brothers, Jimmy Loyd of Mexico, Jay Loyd (Rita) of Mexico, David Loyd (Maria) of Mexico, sister, Karen Smith (Eddie) of Perry; sister-in-law, Sandra Loyd of Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert Joe and Gerald Ray Loyd, and a brother-in-law, Gene Woodward.
Cotton was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and sit and look at the stars. His great-nieces and nephews were the apple of his eye, always loving to spend time with them.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Sunset Gardens in care of Arnold Funeral Home 425 S. Jefferson Mexico, MO 65265.
