  • Daniel Yates Hagan, 75, of Mexico, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
    Dan was born on July 14, 1939, in Mexico, Missouri. He was the son of Lowell Lambert and Louise Yates Hagan, also of Mexico, and is the grandson of Lambert L Hagan, founder of Hagan Clothing Company.
    Dan graduated from the University of Notre Dame, class of 1961, where he studied business and economics, played varsity baseball and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to play Major League Baseball for the Minnesota Twins organization. Dan was the Executive Vice-president of Sales for A.P. Green Refractories where he worked for 35 years.
    Dan married Jimmie Lou in Birmingham, Alabama in 1967. They have been married for 47 years.
    Dan's family was his greatest joy.  He also enjoyed Notre Dame sports and playing golf with friends. Dan traveled extensively during his life for business and for pleasure.  
    In addition to his wife, Jimmie Lou, he is survived by a son, Daniel Yates Hagan, Jr. and his wife Helen, of Austin Texas and their children, Daniel Yates Hagan, III and William Archer Hagan.  He is also survived by his sister Pat Kraft of Dallas, TX.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tim Hagan.
    Private family services will be held at St. Brendan Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.
