Mexico man arrested for assault and unlawful use of a weapon
At approximately 7:15 p.m., Saturday, Mexico Public Safety responded to the area of Marine Drive in reference to a disturbance involving several subjects, one of whom had a knife.
Investigation revealed that Lloyd T. Ryan, 28, of Mexico went to a home because some money was owed to him by a resident there. Ryan struck the person that owed him money and threatened several other people who were in the area with a knife.
Ryan was arrested and processed at MPSD. He was later taken to the Audrain County Jail to post bond on two charges of third-degree assault and unlawful use of weapon. There were only minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Citizens are reminded that people arrested/ charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
