Gary James Oser, 61, of Mexico, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Brendan Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Brendan Cemetery. A visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at Arnold Funeral Home.
Gary was born on July 29, 1953 in Mexico, the son of George and Marie (Mertensmeyer) Oser. He grew up in Mexico and attended St. Brendan School and was a 1972 graduate of Mexico High School. Gary worked for Ben’s Auto Body for nearly 25 years.
He leaves behind his girlfriend of many years, Chris Jones and her son, Matt, and her daughter, Paula; a brother, Ron (Charlotte) Oser of Columbia; sister, Joann (John – deceased)Burchfield of Olathe, Kansas; a brother, Keith (Donna) Oser of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Oser; his nephew, Bryan Oser; his niece, Charelle Rodenbaugh Sellers; and his brother-in-law, John Burchfield.
G-O will always be remembered as a happy, loving and kind-hearted guy. He enjoyed camping and boating at Mark Twain with his longtime companion, Chrissie, and friends. We will miss his smile, sense of humor, and big hugs. We take comfort in knowing God has welcomed his soul with open arms.
