"It was a very hot day on the courts, but the girls pushed through and persevered. Hannah Rogers and Grace Wortmann played very well in their singles matches and stayed in control and finished their singles matches strong," said coach Kim Costley. "Boonville had several players, so many of the JV girls were able to get in some extra games."

"We opened our season at home against the best team in the conference losing 2-10. The two wins came from No. 3 Jennifer Jacobi/Makayla Cash and No. 4 Vesta Prater/Ellen Phillips," Costley said. "Jennifer and Makayla came from behind and had an exciting victory for a win, while Vesta and Ellen were in control of their match from the first serve. It’s always good to face Marshall early as they are a good measuring stick for the team."

"While we didn’t have any wins in singles, several of the matches were close for over half the match. We graduated five last year, so we have several who have moved up the ladder and they are excited for the opportunity to contribute to the team."
