Columbia, Mo. - The Columbia College Athletic Department has announced the men's and women's basketball schedules for the 2018-19 season. Both teams will open their seasons on Friday, November 2nd when they compete in the Cougars vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic Presented by Cost Cutters.

The women's team, who finished the 2017-18 campaign with a 28-6 overall record while claiming both the AMC regular season and tournament championships, will kick off their season on Friday, November 2nd against Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) University at 5 p.m.in the Southwell Athletic Complex. They will continue play in the Cougars vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic Presented by Cost Cutters on Saturday, November 3rd when they take on Missouri Valley College at 5 p.m. in the Southwell Athletic Complex.

The men's team, who finished last season with a 27-5 overall record and were ranked fifth in the NAIA Division I Men's basketball Coaches' Top 25 Postseason Poll, will tip-off their season on Friday, November 2nd at 7 p.m. against Evangel (Mo.) University in the Southwell Athletic Complex. The men's basketball team will continue play in the Cougars vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic Presented by Cost Cutters on Saturday, November 3rd when they take on Grand View (Iowa) University at 7 p.m. in the Southwell Athletic Complex.

 

Competitive League for Organized Teams

The Mexico Area Family YMCA is offering a Boys Basketball League with two divisions, one for grades three and four and another for grades five and six. Both will play all of their games at 1127 Adams St, Mexico, games begin Nov. 5 and end Dec. 11 and will take place on Mon. and Tues. evenings at 6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. Registration is by team and cost is $200 per squad for a six game schedule with no gate fee and each division is limited to six teams due to court availability.
