Jazz concert is free and open to public
Monday, Feb. 6, marks the second annual Culver-Stockton College Invitational JazzFest. As in the previous JazzFest tradition, the festival will bring together area jazz professionals with tri-state high school and junior high jazz musicians.
This year’s festival will feature full band clinics, improvisation clinics, music technology and theory sessions, and sectional rehearsals for each of the twelve bands from Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa.
Workshops will run constantly from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and the day will culminate in a final concert at 4 p.m. in Alexander Campbell Auditorium of the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center, featuring the C-SC Jazz Ensemble and the nine clinician/educators who will be working with the area bands. Afterwards, each of the participating bands will present one representative piece.
The concert and all events are free and open to the public.
