Bobby Davis Sr., 69, of Mexico dies

Bobby Gene Davis Sr., 69 of Mexico, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Bradshaw officiating. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Bobby was born Dec. 18, 1942 in Audrain County, Missouri. On Sept. 23, 1960, he married Wanda Jeffries in Mexico. She survives at their home.
Bobby worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory for many years. Later, he worked for Watts Drilling until he retired, due to health problems. He loved to fish, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, tinker with cars and help people.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Davis of Mexico; two sons, Bobby Gene Davis Jr. of Mexico and Don Davis and wife, Jamie of Mexico; five grandchildren, Don Davis Jr., Brenda Fisher and husband, Ryan, Megan Hoard and husband, Scott, Amber Myers and husband, Matt, and Cameron Davis, all of Mexico; five great-grandchildren, Kellan and Kylee Fisher, Allyssa and Blake Hoard and Zachary Myers; his step-mother, Edith Davis Parker of Texas; three sisters, Connie Tarver of Texas, Myrna and Marsha Mawerence of California; and Jack Robinson of Martinsburg, who was closer than a brother.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Mawarence; his father, Milton Davis; two brothers, Bill Davis and Steven Evan Davis; daughter, Brenda Davis Mosley; and one grandson, Kyle Davis.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. All may be made in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
