CR6 BOYS:  Home Tuesday against EMO rival Wright City, the Trojans led 16-8, 43-15 and 63-21 at the quarters in a 66-22 final.
Eleven players scored for 13-9/4-2 Community R-6. Sean Wilson led the way with 14P/7S and Aaron Fairchild was next with 12P/6R.
”We needed a breakout game to get out of our slump. We were fantastic in all areas,” CR6 coach James Benson said.
The Trojans won the JV game 58-33 with Shane Myers netting 16P.
CR6 GIRLS: In another varsity contest, the host Lady Trojans beat EMO rival Wright City 38-26 after a 16-7 stretch run.
“We’d been outscored a lot recently in the fourth quarter, so we made a change to be fresher in the final frame,” Community R-6 coach Bob Curtis said.
Brittni Brandwein led 10-12/4-3 CR6 with 17P/6S, 11P helping the Lady Trojans pull away. Paige Curtis added 9P/10R for Community.
New Bloomfield outlasted visiting Community R-6 girls 49-43 Monday thanks to a 16-4 stretch run. CR6 led 28-26 at halftime. Brittni Brandwein paced the Lady Trojans with a game-high 20P, converting nine of 11 foul shots and making a trio of treys. Paige Curtis added 10P for CR6. .
VAN-FAR GIRLS: The Lady Indians enjoyed double-digit winning margins this week in a pair of home victories.
Monday saw Van-Far defeat EMO rival Elsberry 43-33 with Kasey Gatson totaling 14P/7A, Makenzie Wallace 10P, Jessie Fowler 10P and Jenise Johnson 7P/14R. On Tuesday, it was Van-Far 52, New Bloomfield 40. Gatson racked up 20P/9A/9R, Johnson 8P/7R and Wallace 10P/5R.
NORCAL BOYS: Southern Boone completed an unbeaten Mid-Mo run with a 73-54 win Tuesday over the visiting Thunderbirds, making NorCal 12-12/2-5.
For North Callaway, which trailed 35-26 at halftime, Zach Lavy and Vance Allen each scored 14P. Zac Eads added 10P and Jared Graves 9R.
NORCAL GIRLS: Tuesday at Mid-Mo rival SoBoCo, the Ladybirds trailed 34-14 at the half after being outscored 20-1 in period two.
Maddie Sorell had 12P/7R, Tara Oberlag 11P, Jordan Gray 10P and Jaida Gray 7P/5A/3S. North Callaway slipped to 13-11/3-4.
PARIS BOYS: The Coyotes trailed 23-5 after the first period in a 78-54 loss Tuesday at L&C rival Fayette.
Paul Turner paced 4-19/3-6 Paris with 19P, making eight of 10 shots from the field including two treys.
PARIS GIRLS: Tuesday at L&C rival Fayette, the Lady Coyotes moved to 14-9/6-3 in a 61-53 win.
“We had a breakout game from behind the arc, making 10 treys,” Paris coach Chris Willigham said.
Whitnie Barr scored 20P, making six 3-pointers, and Shelby Dickey added 15P with a trio of treys.
