Little Dixie Fire Protection District personnel responded to a structure fire at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Everlast Dog Food manufacturing plant in Vandiver Village. Upon arrival flames were coming from the roof of the building. Additional firefighters from Mexico Public Safety and the city of Vandalia were called to help extinguish the fire. Personnel were on the scene for several hours. Then early this morning crews were called back to the scene when the fire re-ignited. As of press time there was no official word on total damage or the fire’s origin. One photo: firefighters exit the building Wednesday night.
